It looks alot different without the colored pencil, I'm not sure which I like better. Their good in different ways I guess.
edit: four posts at once O_O

Two things I like the most...your decision to outline elements as they did kinda run together in the 'just paint' version, and the breaking of the border...
I do find it odd where the water is kinda lighter in the center (around the duck's feet) whereas I would think since it's murky old pond water..it would appear darker in the distance...

Love the colours, especially like how uv added the red key line around most objects in the pick
Excellent work, u get my max +9

I think nature children books is your thing. I'm glad to see traditional painting and illustration at gfx, because that's the style I like most
p.s. I haven't been much around at gfx lately, two young children and shift work doesn't give much time to do something else, I've missed so many great works...

One of the best I've seen lately, not too much to crit. Middle fish could need some heavier line weight to pop it out even more. I could start counting the water distortion on the duck's left bottom part - might be too much a miss but not sure.. at least it adds nice kick to this one.
Why don't they have these kind of illustrations in books I see?

Thanks for the comment. And so positive!
The reason you don't see it like this is because the editors world is very carefull. Cowardly allmost, and with reason; Taking risks could cost money. Who says moms would like this, and buy it? I think taking risks could give the editors some of their old status back, but hey, who am I....
At the same time I think; Maybe I'm wrong, maybe this isn't what children would want to see, but just a playground for my own little person.

Is there something you want to annouce to everyone? Is there a little Arne on the way?
Don't you get tired of being so consistantly professional and innovative simultaneously in every single painting you make?
*yearns for the days of the famous Artoonator paint-over*
You're an impossible act to follow, artistically speaking, I can't decide if that ruins things for the rest of us or "raises the bar".
Great stuff, illustrator man, how about cranking out a crappy experimental piece next to take the pressure off us, huh?
